Today we celebrate Mrs. Martsching and wish her a very happy retirement! Her journey at Westwood began in 2005 with 2½-hour cafeteria duty, followed by subbing in 2007, and then stepping into an IA position in May
We are so thankful for the many years she poured into Westwood and the countless lives she touched along the way.
Congratulations on your retirement, Mrs. Martsching! Wishing you all the happiness, relaxation, and adventures this next chapter brings. Once a Wolf, always a Wolf!

Happy Mother’s Day to all of our amazing Westwood moms, aunties, gigis, nanas, and all the special women who love and support our students so well!
We hope you enjoy the sweet cards our kindergarten students made with Mrs. Snow during art class. They turned out wonderful! Thank you, Mrs. Snow, for teaching art skills to our littlest wolves while creating such a meaningful and memorable project. We hope these keepsakes will be cherished for years to come.

The pictures truly tell the story of all the fun, wonder, and excitement from the day!

Our last post of the day is one worth celebrating!
Our school successfully completed a cardiac emergency response drill and met the requirements to continue our certification as a Heart Safe School. We are incredibly proud of our entire Cardiac Emergency Response Team for their preparation, teamwork, and commitment to keeping our students and staff safe.
A very special recognition goes to Nurse Cara, who trained the team and served as the lead during today’s drill. Her hard work, leadership, and continued dedication to the safety and well-being of our school community do not go unnoticed. We are so thankful for all she does each and every day!

Teacher Appreciation Week may be coming to an end, but the love and support our teachers felt this week will stay with them for a long time.
Our teachers enjoyed a delicious lunch from Raising Cane’s provided by Core Architects, and it was the perfect way to wrap up such a special week.
We also want to take a moment to thank the many people who helped make this week unforgettable. To the parents who made donations, the After School Program, and Crumbl Cookies for donating gift certificates so teachers could enjoy their sweet treats.
This week was filled with kindness, generosity, and thoughtful surprises that reminded our staff just how valued they are. We are incredibly thankful for a community that continues to support and celebrate our teachers!

One of our littlest wolves proved that mighty things can come in small packages! She raised an incredible $238.62 to become Westwood’s top donor and also completed Finn’s Challenge!
The 7 challenge tasks included raising awareness by sharing on social media, collecting donations, and learning life-saving skills through videos on Hands-Only CPR and recognizing the signs of a stroke. We are so proud of her big heart, hard work, and determination to make a difference for others.
A big shoutout to Coach McGraw for organizing this challenge and helping our Wolves learn the importance of heart health, service, and helping others!

We’re a little behind on posting about Teacher Appreciation Week, but our teachers have definitely been feeling the love!
We started the week with some delicious BBQ provided by our own Mr. Curtis and Championship Martial Arts. The yummy cookies were donated by South Coast Baking/Rise Bakering Careers and Employment. Tuesday brought coffee from the Vagabond Coffee Truck along with fun dirty sodas to keep everyone going strong. Yesterday, our office team treated teachers to a baked potato bar that was a huge hit!
We can’t wait to see what today brings as we continue celebrating our amazing teachers. Thank you to everyone who has donated, supported, and helped make this week so special. We truly appreciate our community and all they do to help us celebrate the people who pour so much into our Wolves every single day!
